What are your responsibilities at Circular Materials?
My primary responsibility is to promote our innovative technology in the European market and to explore new applications for our processes. My goal is to meet the needs of our partners and customers, contributing to the development of new Circular Materials Hubs across Europe. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business and market understanding, public speaking skills, interpersonal and negotiation abilities, as well as a strategic mindset. Being part of the Leadership Team allows me to bring the market’s voice into the company’s long-term planning.
What is your educational background?
I hold a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, with studies in Padua and Berlin. After graduating, I worked for an engineering firm, focusing on the design and sizing of industrial plants. I later moved to Norway, where I worked for a multinational Oil & Gas company—first as a platform chemical engineer and later in business development and technology transfer. I returned to Italy six years ago, and I’ve been working with Circular Materials for the past five.
How have you developed your skills at CM?
A strong technical background has been essential for fully understanding how our technology and processes work, enabling me to explore future applications across our customers’ industrial sectors and integrate our solutions with theirs. My role allows me to study and understand various technological verticals—from mining to refining, from chemical synthesis to recycling technologies and industrial wastewater treatment. This understanding of material flows helps me contribute to the recovery and valorization of resources that would otherwise be lost.
How would you describe your relationship with the team?
I have been with Circular Materials since its founding, and I know each team member well, even outside the workplace. I always try to spark conversations about new developments and applications of our technology, bringing customer needs to the technical team: teamwork is essential to delivering solutions to our partners and clients. I am always ready to listen, and I find it deeply rewarding to support my colleagues whenever I can.
What aspects of Circular Materials’ project do you appreciate the most?
Seeing a technology come to life—from an idea on paper to a functioning system in an advanced recycling facility, the first of its kind in Italy—is something truly extraordinary. I’ve been fortunate to witness the growth and consolidation of the Circular Materials Hub project and to help promote our technology both in Italy and abroad. Knowing that we can change the fate of certain waste streams that currently aren’t recycled aligns perfectly with my personal values.
